A notebook cover that opens differently to anything else on your desk. The trifold wraps around both the front and back of your chosen insert, fastening with an elastic closure and sitting flat when open — a considered piece of leather stationery that earns its place and gets better with every use.

Hand-cut and hand-finished in our Lincolnshire studio from full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather — a natural material that softens, deepens in tone, and develops a rich patina shaped entirely by the person who carries it.

Available in A5 and A6, it arrives complete with two refillable paper inserts — one lined and the second in your choice of plain, dotted, lined or squares — and is designed to be restocked just as easily when you reach the final page.

  • Every Priestleys notebook is made to order in our Lincoln studio. Whilst we do our best to get orders out sooner please allow 7-10 working days from your order date. If you need it for a specific occasion, drop us a message at studio@priestleys.uk and we will do our best to help.

  • Yes — every cover is fully refillable. When you reach the last page, simply replace the insert and keep the cover. Replacement inserts are available in the shop. The cover is made to last a lifetime.

  • Yes. Initials are included at no extra cost — simply add them at checkout. A name, date or short phrase (up to 5 words) is an additional £5. We can emboss in gold foil, silver foil or blind emboss (no foil — just the impression of the leather itself).

  • Yes — every A5 notebook comes with one lined insert and you select your choice of lined, dotted, plain or squares for the second. Select your preference at checkout.

  • A5 is the everyday workhorse — the right size for most people, most uses. A6 fits in a pocket or bag and is perfect for notes on the go. If you are not sure, A5 is the most popular choice.

  • It is the oldest and most natural form of leather tanning, using plant-based tannins rather than chemicals. It takes longer to produce but the result is a leather that develops a rich patina over time — softening, darkening and becoming entirely unique to the person using it. Every Priestleys piece is made from full-grain vegetable-tanned leather sourced from Leather Working Group or certified tanneries.

  • Full-grain leather uses the outermost layer of the hide — the strongest and most characterful part. It has not been sanded or buffed to remove natural markings, which means every piece is slightly different. It also means it ages beautifully rather than wearing out.

  • Full-grain vegetable-tanned leather will pick up minor marks and scratches over time — and that is entirely by design. Those marks become part of the patina, making the piece yours rather than generic. If a mark bothers you, a small amount of leather conditioner will usually minimise it.
